Giving Thanks

For the hay and the corn and the wheat that is reaped,

Ground Driving the Pony Again

Ground driving the pony. He's so good about it; doesn't bother about the growling old dog who came running up like he was going to attack, nor the car that went by so close to us.

It's a little difficult to do this with just one hand on the reins, and one hand on the camera!

Icelandic Horse, Two Whorls

This Icelandic Horse has two whorls close together on her forehead. Linda Tellington-Jones has a book called, "Understand and Influence Your Horse's Personality", which discusses the meaning of different whorls and body parts.

Horses on the Lawn

I was riding my stationary recumbent bike this afternoon, watching TV, and trying with my left hand on the laptop (multi-tasking :-)), and noticed the horses grazing on the lawn just outside my window. Took a few snaps of the horses; they love the grass.

We just have to be careful that they don't get too much. Icelandic Horses are relatively easy keepers and can't have too much fresh grass; too much sugar for them, with a potential of founder / laminitis / insulin resistance.

Pony Visits Senior Facility

This pony visits senior facilities as well as visiting disabled adults and children. He is a large (over-sized) miniature horse. He looks quite similar to a small Icelandic Horse.

Cookie and Vanessa

Cookie is carrying Vanessa on a ride to the trails by the river.

Pony Ride

This is Tonka, a pony of unknown, but probably mixed heritage, as he has Appaloosa markings as well as pinto markings. His coloring is palomino on white.
